Pennsylvania has so many amazing places throughout the state to get married and one of those is the Stone Mill Inn wedding venue. This venue in York Country is absolutely stunning and has everything you could ask for in a dream wedding venue.

As a Pennsylvania wedding photographer, I have seen my fair share of wedding venues and the Stone Mill Inn is definitely one of the best options you could have. From the beautiful mill itself to the gorgeous forest area surrounding it, there are no shortage of amazing places around the venue.

So, if this sounds like something up your alley, check out everything you need to know about the Stone Mill Inn wedding venue!

About Stone Mill Inn

Originally built back in the late 1730s, the Stone Mill has been a part of Pennsylvania history for a long time. While the original mill and part of the house was built back then, a major portion was added to the house in the early 1820s.

The Mill was originally built and operated as a grist mill. It wasn’t until the late 1990s that events and weddings actually started to be hosted there. Now, it is a beautiful wedding venue that hosts incredible indoor and outdoor ceremonies!

Spaces Around the Venue

The Stone Mill Inn actually has a ton of different areas throughout the venue that are perfect for your ceremony, intimate portraits, getting ready, and your reception. Let’s take a look at some of the spots you can go to throughout your wedding day.

Getting Ready Suite

First things first, they do have a getting ready suite that you and your wedding party can use to get ready right on the property. This makes your wedding day so much easier as you don’t have to worry about traveling back and forth from different spots.

They made sure that this suite has everything you need from two different spots to do your hair or your makeup to a coffee station, private bathrooms, and plenty of space for you and your wedding party to be comfortable as you get ready to walk down the aisle!

The Abbey

A bridal party under a wooden A-frame outside, featuring the bride in the center flanked by groomsmen and bridesmaids in beige suits and green dresses, respectively, all smiling in a lush green setting.

The Abbey is one of the newer locations at the venue and it is absolutely stunning. There is a brick path leading up to a wooden A-frame structure that creates the most romantic atmosphere.

Surrounding the brick path is beautiful grass and trees making you feel as if you are in a world of your own. There are a few small steps leading into the Abbey where you’ll find a chandelier hanging from the top.

Whether you use this as your ceremony location for your wedding or you just head out here to take some portraits with your partner, you definitely will not want to miss out on this area!

The Woodlands

If you are looking to say I do in a storybook setting, The Woodlands are the perfect place for you. Surrounded by gorgeous trees, a small stone wall, and a floral arch, you’ll feel like you are in a fairytale of your own.

Plus, they have amazing light fixtures hanging above you throughout the trees making this area truly magical.

The Fountain

The Fountain is a beautiful spot for couples portraits or an intimate wedding ceremony with your closest friends and family. You’ll be surrounded by amazing trees and a rose garden with a beautiful fountain right in the middle.

In the fall, this is also a great place to capture some changing colors throughout your wedding as all of the plants and trees turn beautiful shades of orange and yellow.

The Mill

A bridal party posing in front of a historic stone building, the bride in a white gown surrounded by bridesmaids in green dresses, each holding a bouquet, creating a timeless and elegant group portrait.

We can’t forget about the Stone Mill itself. While it was built back in the 1700s, it is anything but dated. The Mill still features some of its original stonework and you’ll find things like beautiful exposed wooden beams and chandeliers that create the perfect, romantic setting for you and your partner to tie the knot.

You can also use The Mill for your reception as well as your ceremony. It is also climate controlled which makes it perfect for any season and it is handicap accessible!

The Tent

If you are feeling something a bit more outdoorsy, you can opt for The Tent for your wedding. The Tent features stunning white drapes with string lights strung along the top to create an even more romantic feeling. You are able to use the tent for your actual ceremony and your reception!

Next to the tent, you’ll also find the brick courtyard. This is a beautiful space itself that can be used for everything from your actual wedding ceremony to your cocktail hour, as a dance floor, or even as the site of your entire wedding reception.

Not only do you have the courtyard and tent which are incredible on their own, but you will also find a 15-foot fireplace and a wood-fired pizza oven on the courtyard. You really couldn’t ask for anything better for your wedding and reception.

The Moongate

A bride and groom share a kiss under a lit circular archway in a night garden setting, the bride's veil dramatically caught in a breeze, adding movement and a fairy-tale quality to the scene.

Finally, we have the Moongate. This is a really unique area at the Stone Mill Inn wedding venue and is a dream place to capture some stunning portraits of you and your partner. The Moongate really makes it feel like you are the main character in your own fairytale.

This circular gate is actually made up of the old bricks from the courtyard and now creates a dream entrance and exit to your wedding.

While the area is beautiful any time of day, it really comes to life at night. This is definitely a place that you want to add to your list of portrait locations to make sure you don’t miss out on.

The Moongate is also the perfect place to make your grand exit on your wedding day. Whether you want to keep it a bit more low key or have a spectacular sparkler exit, this is the perfect place to do it!

All the Extra Details

Now, in addition to all of the amazing places throughout the venue that you can use for portraits, your ceremony, a cocktail hour, and your reception, the Inn also has so many amazing things included with the venue.
