Sweet and Savory Late-Night Wedding Snacks Guests Go Crazy For

Late-night snacks for weddings are abso-freaking-lutely essential. Especially if you’re planning on having a wedding that ends in a banger dance floor party.

After all, not only will your wedding guests have worked up an appetite after throwing it down to awesome wedding reception songs like Sweet Caroline or Super Bass… But they might need a little food to soak up any alcohol before your big-ass bash comes to a close.

Plus, rolling out wedding snacks at midnight (or whatever time count as “late night” for you two) is a treat guests go wild for.

So, if you’re looking for good late-night wedding snack ideas that are savory, sweet, and fun as hell, I’ve got you.

When’s the Best Time to Serve Late-Night Snacks At Your Wedding?

Personally, and you know, as a professional wedding photographer who has been to over 100+ weddings, I’d recommend serving your late-night wedding snacks a few hours after you’ve done food and cake, and about an hour before your wedding ends.

That way, your wedding guests are hungry and not still full of food and wedding cake from the beginning of your wedding reception.

And if you need ideas for what to serve as fun wedding after-party food, keep scrolling.

Savory Late-Night Wedding Snack Ideas

Sweet late-night wedding snacks rock, but you (or your wedding guests) might prefer chowing down on something savory after getting your dance floor sweat on.

1. McDonald’s Happy Meals

One of my favorite late-night snacks I’ve seen at a wedding: McDonald’s Happy Meals. The wedding guests absolutely loved them, and the wedding photos of the snack set-up and people eating were SO. FREAKING. GOOD.

2. Soft Pretzels

Soft pretzels are an awesome late-night wedding food because they’re easy to deliver and easy for guests to eat. You could have your soft pretzels hanging on hooks or pass them out on a tray. Plus, people can eat them plain or with whatever sauces you think your people would go wild for.

3. Wood-Fired Pizza

If you want to add an extra classy twist to a classic wedding snack idea, bring in a wood-fired pizza oven. Guests can request the pizza they want, and your pizza people can make it for them fresh on the spot.

4. Chinese Takeout

While this after-party food is on the messier side, it’s a creative as hell idea that would look so cute in your wedding photos. Just imagine small takeout boxes, chopsticks, and delicious noodles. I mean, that’s a late-night wedding snack that’s guaranteed to be a hit.

5. Taco Bell

For my wedding couples who loveeeee popping over to Taco Bell after a night out (or swinging by the drive-thru and then heading home for a night in)… why not bring Taco Bell to your wedding? Baja blasts. Crunch wraps. Bean burritos. Anything you choose from Taco Bell will be an awesome bite to end the night.

6. French Fry Cups

Everybody loves French fries. They’re salty. They’re greasy. And they’re an easy late-night wedding snack idea that people can eat right on the dance floor. If you wanted to add an extra personal touch to this classic late-night snack, you could always have an awesome sauce bar.

7. Sliders

Tiny burgers. That’s it. I mean, what’s not to love?! Stick a pick through them and pass them around on a platter, or put them in paper slips for guests to grab. And, if you’ve got lots of non-meat eaters, you could always do a veggie version, too!

8. Cups of Ramen

Ramen is the ultimate late-night wedding snack for guests who need something warm to slurp. Also, it could be a perfect after-party food if your wedding reception is outdoors! You could partner with a local Asian grocery store or bulk order online. No matter what path you pick, get ready for some iconic wedding photos.

9. Pickles on a Stick

A non-traditional late-night wedding snack that’s sure to be a hit with your guests? Pickles on a stick! If you’re looking for something crunchy, savory, and refreshing (that helps your guests get some electrolytes in before tomorrow’s… hangover hits), this is the wedding snack for you.

10. Popcorn Bar

Okay, hear me out. Not only could you go for a whole old-school movie popcorn vibe with old-fashioned popcorn containers and a ton of options for toppings… You could also pair your popcorn bar with an end-of-the-night movie of you two! Have your guests do their popcorn thing and then gather them around to watch a little film of you two being cute as hell before calling it a night.

11. Sourdough Bread Bar

If you plan on partying hard, this late-night wedding snack is the best damn way to help everyone soak up all the alcohol. Go for different kinds of sourdough bread (rosemary, thyme, garlic, etc.) and pair it with different flavored butters. Wildly unique and utterly delicious.

Sweet Late-Night Wedding Snack Ideas

If you two have a strong sweet tooth or just can’t imagine ending the night with anything but a dessert, these late-night wedding snack ideas are for you.

12. Ice Cream Truck

Every blog post on wedding snacks talks about ice cream, but an ice cream truck adds a special, personal touch to your after-party. You could have guests go up and order themselves, or, you could do something iconic, like one of my previous couples did, and serve the ice cream out to guests yourselves!

13. Donuts (or donut holes)

Donuts are a classic late-night wedding snack for a reason. They’re easy to grab, easy to eat, definitely delicious, and endlessly customizable. Plus, if you’re having someone fry them up right then and there, fresh donuts are a fun way to warm guests up if it’s a chillier wedding venue or a colder night!

14. Espresso Martinis

Okay, this might not be a wedding snack, but it’s kind of a dessert?! And guests go crazy for it. All you have to do is have your catering team walk around and pass out espresso martinis. (This idea is probably better for a little earlier in the evening!)

15. A Candy Bar

Think: candy store vibes. For this late-night wedding snack idea, guests can grab a bag and scoop their candy of choice. If you wanted to do something extra personal (and I’m all about adding personal touches to your wedding!), you could do custom candy or just choose candy that you two are freaking obsessed with.

16. S’mores Bar

If you’re looking for another interactive snack idea, a s’mores bar is a great way to go. Set out graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate, and let guests go sugar crazy roasting marshmallows and building their own sweet treats.
